Why I'm Preparing to Stop Selling Our 4.8-Star Filter Straw

JEYOGO army-green water filter straws

Lately, I've been wrestling with a decision: whether to stop selling our army-green water filter straw on Amazon.

It currently has a 4.8-star rating. When you've put time into a product, seeing customers respond that way makes it hard to simply say, “It's time to stop selling it.”

Honestly, I'm reluctant to let it go.

The numbers behind the decision

There is a practical reality I can't ignore. The straw sells for around $10, while Amazon's last-mile delivery cost alone is about $4. What remains still has to cover the product itself and the other costs of selling it.

With the current level of competition and these costs, there isn't enough margin to keep selling it sustainably.

That has made me think seriously about a question: once a product earns customers' appreciation, what does it take to keep it going?

I'm still learning how to answer that. For this straw, I'm preparing to stop selling it on Amazon. Even as I make that decision, I value the feedback it has received, and I'm grateful to everyone who bought one and took the time to share their experience.

Where the 2L gravity filtration system stands

Meanwhile, another product is moving forward. Our 2L gravity filtration system has completed the prototyping stage, its design has been finalized, and it is now awaiting testing.

At this stage, I can share the development progress. Specific filtration performance and supported uses will need to be explained in light of the test results when they are available.

Thank you for following the process

Today, I don't have a new product launch to announce. I have an honest update: I'm preparing to stop selling one product that is hard to let go of, while another has reached the next stage of development and is waiting to be tested.

Thank you for following along.
